Valentine's Day is celebrated annually on the 14th February in many countries around the world. It's a day in which you celebrate your loved ones. Traditionally, partners, but now thanks to the TV show 'Parks and Recreation' and the introduction of 'Galentine's Day', it's also a day to celebrate friendships too.
Aberdeen, just like Glasgow and Edinburgh, hosts a bunch of events to celebrate Valentine's Day. Although this blog post is going to delve into these specific events, Aberdeen and its surrounding areas make for a lovely romantic getaway nonetheless. With the beautiful mountainous Cairngorms, the hundreds of castles, and quaint towns, Aberdeen is the perfect place to spend quality time together.
As mentioned above Valentine's Day isn't just for couples anymore. So, on this list, I've included events for singles, friends, and even dogs all around Aberdeen, allowing you to find the perfect Valentine's event for you!

7 Delightful Events For Valentine's Day Aberdeen | 2024
1. Bring Your Pooch Along To 'Party Like A Cockapoo' Valentine Edition
Dress up your doodle, poodle, cockapoo or dachshund for a Valentine's Party at Hogholm Farm Stables Indoor Arena on Saturday 3rd February from 9am-1pm.
Hogholm Farm Stables Indoor Arena is a 30-minute drive from Aberdeen City Centre.
At this event, your dog will have 60 minutes off-lead play time in the indoor arena. There will also be lots of photo opportunities, games, unlimited puppuccinos and treats for your dog. The theme is a mix between Valentine's Day and the 80s.
As a dog owner, you will get to meet other doodle and dachshund owners. There will also be stalls selling treats, accessories and more. Plus, you only need to pay for a ticket for your dog as humans go free. Click this link to organise tickets for you and your family.
2. Be Serenaded At A Valentine's Evening With Songstring
Support local musicians by attending a Valentine's Evening with Songstring at Kinord Hall in Dinnet, about 1-hours drive from Aberdeen. The event takes place on Saturday 10th February from 7.30-10pm.
You can bring your own snacks and drinks, and cosy up in their relaxed environment, whilst listening to Songstring play a selection of beautiful music, all based around the theme of love.

3. Have A Fun-Filled Evening At Love And Lust Valentine's Concert
Tivoli Theatre, in Aberdeen City Centre, presents the 'Love & Lust Valentine's Concert' on Wednesday 14 Feb 2024 from 7.30pm.
Expect an evening of light-hearted fun by TV comedy legend Roy Walker, that will have you laughing along, and beautiful love songs performed by Aberdeen-based singer Nicola Dunbar.
Roy Walker will also be sharing stories from his noteworthy career. They will both be joined by musical duo Jim Taylor and Martha Murray, who are well-known local musicians.
Tickets for this event cost between £15.75-£28.13 each, depending on your seat selection. You can get tickets from the Aberdeen Performing Arts website.
4. Be Mesmerised At A Candlelight Concert
Plan an unforgettable Valentine's Day for you and your significant other by booking a candlelight concert, where you'll listen to a string quartet playing incredible music surrounded by hundreds of candlelights in some of Aberdeen's most atmospheric venues.
On Thursday 15th February at either 6.30pm or 8.30pm, Union Kirk is the venue for a Valentine's Day Special Candlelight Concert, which features songs from 'Romeo and Juliet', 'Breakfast At Tiffany's', 'Titanic' and more. This is sure to be one of the most romantic Valentine's events!
If you don't fancy the Valentine's Day Special event, then there's different candlelight concerts to choose from throughout February including Han Zimmer's best works, best of metal on strings and a tribute to Oasis, Coldplay, Queen and Taylor Swift.
The candlelight concerts usually last about 60 minutes and ticket prices range from £16, depending on which zone you pick to sit in.

5. Enjoy An Afternoon Of Love Songs Performed By The North East of Scotland Music School
On Thursday 15th February from 12.45-1.30pm, the students from the North East of Scotland Music School are performing at Aberdeen Art Gallery.
Their programme revolves around the theme of Valentine’s Day, so you can expect to hear a variety of romantic songs.
This event is not ticketed, and you can pay however much you feel.
6. Be Captivated By An Evening Of Music From Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet' By The Royal Scottish National Orchestra
For the ultimate romantic Valentine's Day, enjoy an evening of music from one of the world's greatest love stories, Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet', played by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
The concert takes place at the Music Hall in the city centre of Aberdeen on Thursday 15th February from 7.30pm.

7. Mingle With A Single At Unified Dating
An event for any single people out there! Every month, Unified Dating holds singles events on Tuesday's, Friday's and Sunday's at All Bar One in Aberdeen.
On Tuesdays, the events alternate between lunch events at 1pm and dinner events at 7:30pm. On Fridays at 7:30pm, they host a singles drinks event and on Sundays at 4pm, they have a brunch event.
Unified Dating offer events for heterosexual, lesbian, gay and bisexual, for a range of different ages including 18-30, 28+ and over 50s.
